Job Description
We are seeking a Production Engineer to work with our trading strategy and infrastructure development teams. You will develop tools to monitor and support the production environment on a highly automated trading desk, working directly with technologists, traders, and quantitative research analysts.
You will be responsible for developing scripts for monitoring the state of the production environment and its dependencies. Additionally, you will collaborate with the Platform Engineering team to assist in server imaging, testing, and deployment.
As a Production Engineer, you will act as a liaison between teams for system-level production issues and new setups. Your primary focus will be to ensure that the production system is stable, secure, and performs at optimal levels.
Key responsibilities include:
* Developing and implementing monitoring scripts to track the health of the production environment.
* Collaborating with the Platform Engineering team to design and implement efficient server imaging and deployment processes.
* Providing technical support and guidance to internal stakeholders on production-related issues.
* Maintaining and optimizing existing production systems to ensure high performance and stability.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must have a strong foundation in computer science and relevant scripting languages (Python, bash, shell). In addition, you should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with traders, quants, and other developers.
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline is required. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java is preferred. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are also essential.
