Quantity Surveyor
to strengthen and enhance the team working on a number of high-profile projects across all sectors.
You will be working within a well-established team on a variety of prestigious projects. The current workload is exciting and you will be involved at all stages of high value projects. Project Overview
This role involves managing the commercial and cost aspects of a luxury 5-star hotel development project in Galway. The Hawthorn by Galway Bay is an ambitious 114-bedroom destination hotel featuring world-class restaurant and spa facilities. This is a high-value project combining contemporary design with sustainable practices, representing a flagship development for the West of Ireland. You will oversee all financial and commercial aspects of this substantial hospitality project.
Essential Qualifications & Education:
* Degree in Quantity Surveying, OR
* General Construction or Engineering Degree with 8+ years surveying experience, OR
* QS conversion MSc
* Minimum 8 years' experience in a QS role
Commercial & Technical Capability:
* Contractually and commercially astute
* Excellent ability to analyse and interpret contractual documents
* Proven excellent analytical and organisational skills
* Superior oral and written communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills required
* Excellent Negotiator
* Experience administering RIAI, GCC & Bespoke forms of contract
Software & IT Skills:
* IT Literate
* Experience with Cubit, CostX & COINS software packages preferable
Sector & Project Experience:
* Previous experience working on high quality medium and large scale projects in various sectors: Industrial, Health, Pharma, Commercial & Education
* Experience in delivering large projects would be a distinct advantage
* A full driver's licence is required for this role
* Valid Safepass and Manual Handling certification desirable

Commercial & Financial Management:
* Managing the production of monthly Value Cost Reconciliation and Forecasting reports
* Managing the preparation and agreement of monthly project Payment Claims
* Managing the preparation of Internal and External Project Cashflow information
* Monitoring all ongoing commercial aspects during the course of the project
* Identifying and quantifying the effects of Delay and Disruption on projects
Change Control & Contract Administration:
* Managing Change Control including change identification and negotiation
* Administering the provisions of the Contract in respect to notifications
* Assuming the role of a Commercial Lead on a project
Procurement & Subcontractor Management:
* Procuring Subcontractors & Suppliers
* Compiling and Issuing Sub Contracts
* Commercial management of Sub Contractors and Suppliers
* Negotiating and agreeing Sub Contractor final accounts
Client & Stakeholder Liaison:
* Liaising with Clients and Client Representatives
* Capable of effectively communicating technical and commercial topics to key stakeholders and management
