We seek a highly motivated and experienced Kitchen Staff Worker to prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks for children in a licensed child care facility. The successful candidate will maintain a clean, safe, and healthy kitchen environment while adhering to all regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities
* Prepare all meals and snacks following issued menus and directives.
* Keep accurate records including inventory and production records.
* Comply with all Center regulations and guidelines.
* Wash kitchenware and tableware.
* Keep kitchen, appliances, etc., clean, sanitized, and in good working condition.
* Complete food order requests and grocery shopping as needed.
* Inventory food supply and report needs to the Associate Director.
* Report maintenance or non-food supply needs in the kitchen.
* Assist with ordering supplies if requested.
* Properly store food and non-food supplies upon delivery.
* Store all food items properly and at appropriate temperatures.
* Date all food items.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* High School diploma or equivalent plus professional experience in food service and/or nutrition.
* Preferred: five years of professional experience in food service and/or nutrition.
Physical and Mental Demands
* Ability to lift 40 pounds.
* Ability to reach overhead.
* Good personal hygiene.
* Ability to bend down.
* Finger dexterity.
* Ability to read and understand all documents.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills.
* Remain calm in crisis situations.
