We are seeking a dedicated and motivated
Senior House Officer (SHO) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
to join a dynamic medical team.
The successful candidate will gain valuable hands-on experience in both obstetric and gynaecological care while working under the supervision of Registrars and Consultant Specialists.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
Assist in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of obstetric and gynaecological patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Labour and Delivery:
Support the management of pregnancies, assist in normal and operative deliveries, and participate in obstetric emergencies under supervision.
Gynaecological Care:
Assist in the evaluation and treatment of gynaecological conditions, including attending outpatient clinics and minor surgical procedures.
Emergency and Ward Duties:
Provide care to patients in the maternity and gynaecology wards, respond to emergency cases, and liaise with senior medical staff as needed.
Multidisciplinary Teamwork:
Work closely with midwives, anaesthetists, neonatologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Patient Communication:
Provide clear and compassionate explanations to patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
Continuous Learning:
Participate in clinical meetings, teaching sessions, and case discussions to further develop clinical skills in obstetrics and gynaecology.
Requirements:
Medical Qualifications:
MB BCh BAO or equivalent medical degree.
Registration:
Eligible for registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC).
Experience:
A minimum of
1-2 years post-internship experience
, with some exposure to Obstetrics and Gynaecology preferred.
Skills:
Strong clinical reasoning, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, and a keen interest in women's health and maternal care.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary:
€53K - €73K per year + On-call allowances.
