Role Overview Irish Building Supply are seeking to hire a Building Materials Sales Advisor for its thriving builders merchant store in Kilcoole, Co. Wicklow.

About Irish Building Supply Irish Building Supply is a family run independent builders merchants supplying quality building materials to the greater Dublin area for over 55 years.
Our team supply builders, tradesmen, self-builders and D.I.Y enthusiasts.
With a long-standing store and warehouse in Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin, the company opened its 2nd store and logistics hub in North Wicklow 3 years ago.
Role and Responsibilities Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Customer management: serving customers in the store and processing phone, email and web orders (cash or credit account) in an efficient mannerProcess incoming quotation requests and enquiriesBuilding strong working relationships with customers in order to understand their requirementsIdentifying sales opportunities and offering advice and solutions to customers to achieve maximum salesMaintaining a well merchandised store / shop area and liaising with suppliers as requiredAssisting with purchasing, including processing PO's and GRNsAssisting with stock control, cycle counting and stock takingAssisting with day-to-day store managementAssisting with website administration e.g.
product management, stock management, order processing etc.General upkeep of the storeLiaising with the Warehouse and Yard staff to help fulfill incoming ordersDealing with other requests to support the busy operation as and when requiredFollowing company policies and procedures from an operational and health and safety perspectiveSkills and Experience The successful candidate will ideally come with excellent customer service skills and be personable and enthusiastic.
They must also be adept at managing multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
Educational/Experience Leaving Certificate (or equivalent) or higher educational qualification preferredTrade sales experience selling building materials or related industry preferredStrong industry and product knowledge (DIY and building materials products) preferredTechnical/Functional Strong verbal and written communication skillsExcellent customer service skillsIT literacy preferred to include:Microsoft Office suite (MS Outlook, Word, Excel)POS/ERP system experienceInterpersonal Skills Positive, can-do attitudeAbility to work well as part of a teamFlexible, self-starting, and ambitious to achieve strong sales resultsAdditional Competencies Additional knowledge of construction/building materials is highly desirableOrganised, and able to handle multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneouslyProactive about addressing problems and proven problem-solving skillsTagged as: builders merchant, building materials, irish building supply, sales, sales advisor
