Requirements: Valid drivers licence (essential) Proven HV cable jointing experience *****kV) Time-served HV jointer or formally qualified electrician (relevant electrical qualifications beneficial but not essential) Experience up to 33kV acceptable 66kV not essential OEM-certified HV jointing training (e.g. TE/Raychem, Nexans, Pfisterer, NKT) is highly desirable Strong work ethic and positive attitude Reliable, loyal, and hardworking, with a willingness to travel and adapt to project demands Team player with good communication skills and the ability to mentor junior staff Ability to interpret technical drawings and follow work instructions accurately Understanding of DSO Safety Rules and HVSM Electrical Safety Procedures (training provided if required) Knowledge of health, safety, and welfare at work regulations Experience with VLF or diagnostic testing is desirable but not essential What will your role look like?
As an HV Cable Jointer, youll play a vital role in delivering safe and high-quality jointing and terminating works across ****kV distribution networks.
Youll work on large-scale projects including new connections for offshore and data centre developments both independently and as part of a team.
Your key responsibilities will include: Performing medium and high voltage jointing and terminations (heat shrink, cold shrink, separable connectors, plug-in terminations) Working with leading brands such as TE/Raychem, NKT, Pfisterer, and Nexans Completing site risk assessments and promoting a strong safety culture Acting as a Competent Person under electrical safety procedures Maintaining tools, equipment, and a well-organised jointing vehicle Supervising and mentoring junior team members Supporting commissioning, testing, and substation operations Ensuring compliance with technical standards, drawings, and method statements Whats next?
