Job Title: Livestock Industry Manager
The role of a Livestock Industry Manager is to oversee the daily operations of the organization. This includes managing the herdbook, ensuring its accuracy and relevance.
Main Responsibilities:
* Maintain and upkeep the herdbook
* Develop and implement an effective advertising and marketing strategy for the breed
* Implement the breeding programme and rules
* Manage the office and staff effectively
* Handle and advise breeders on queries via phone and email
* Organize shows and sales
* Write reports on society events and summer shows
* Attend meetings and take minutes
* Work on the website and social media platforms
* Compile and distribute the Breed Journal
* Liaise with industry partners such as ICBF and Pedigree Cattle Breeders Council
* Coordinate and promote the Certified Hereford Scheme
* Organize youth activities and programmes
Candidate Profile:
A strong understanding of pedigree cattle breeding, the agricultural sector, genetics, and the ICBF Eurostar Indexes is essential. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and people skills, previous relevant marketing/PR experience, and be willing to travel. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is also required.
