Set up under the auspices of the Good Friday Agreement, Tourism Ireland plays an important role as a North South body for a key industry on the island of Ireland, serving both Northern Ireland and Ireland.RoleAs Head of Finance, you will lead and oversee all finance and accounting functions for Tourism Ireland. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, budgeting, cash flow management, treasury operations, financial reporting, analysis, procurement, and matters relating to corporate governance. You will ensure the Finance Department remains focused on the needs of the organisation by aligning departmental objectives with Tourism Ireland's strategic priorities and statutory obligations.A key aspect of the role is building and maintaining strong relationships with sponsor departments, the Senior Management Team (SMT), the Board, and the Audit & Risk Assurance Committee (ARAC). You will lead on financial strategy and work in partnership with teams across the entire organisation, particularly supporting SMT and budget holders in achieving their objectives. Additionally, you will lead and develop the finance team to deliver high-quality financial insights and support across all areas of the business.Note: This role will involve the occasional need to work unsocial hours including evenings and weekends. In addition, some travel across the island of Ireland and occasionally abroad may be required.Key Results AreaManage Tourism Ireland Finance Department, currently a team of 10 across 2 locations.Provide key budget and financial information to a range of internal and external stakeholders.Prepare Annual Financial Statements and manage Annual Audit.Manage all financial aspects of the annual budget process.Manage all company tax affairs and insurance cover.Develop and maintain financial policies including the Finance Manual in alignment with legal, regulatory and sponsorship department requirements as well as best practice.Work with all areas of the company to achieve best practise internal controls and procurement procedures.Manage company cash-flow and treasury risks.Maintain business focus on value for money activities.Work with Internal Audit function to help manage risk.Manage the financial/governance relationship with Tourism Ireland's sponsor departments in both jurisdictions.Provide ad hoc support to other departments and divisions on all financial matters.The PersonThe successful candidate will possess the following experience, knowledge and skills competencies and qualificationsEssentialMinimum 10 years' experience in a senior finance position.Degree in finance with accreditation in one of the following ACA, ACCA, CPA (or equivalent).Knowledge of the public and private sector accounting, both ROI and NI.Experience of Freedom of Information, Parliamentary Questions and Assembly Questions.Understanding of international employment and/or contract law, with the ability to navigate diverse legal frameworks and cultural nuances, while ensuring compliance with global data protection standards such as GDPR.
