Case Officer – Local Area Employment Service

(Career Guidance / Employment Advisor / Job Coach)

Southside Partnership Dun Laoghaire Rathdown CLG ("Southside Partnership") is a local development company working towards an inclusive and just society, where each person is encouraged and enabled to reach their full potential. We provide a comprehensive range of supports through employment services, community development, training and social inclusion programmes.

Our Local Area Employment Service (LAES), funded by the Department of Social Protection, supports unemployed individuals to re-enter the workforce. Clients are referred through Intreo offices, and we provide one-to-one career guidance, employment advice and job coaching to help them progress into work, training or education.

The Role:

We are seeking a
Case Officer (also known as Employment Advisor / Job Coach / Career Coach)
to support long-term unemployed clients in the Dun Laoghaire–Rathdown area.

The Case Officer will:

· Provide tailored employment guidance, job coaching, and client support to individuals facing barriers to work.

· Conduct initial assessments and create personalised Personal Progression Plans with clear actions and milestones.

· Support clients in developing job readiness skills – from CV preparation and interview techniques (including mock interviews) to confidence building and job search strategies.

· Actively engage with employers to identify opportunities, provide job-matching support, and assist clients through the application and interview process.

· Liaise with training providers (ETB, Solas, Intreo, local colleges, and community organisations) to ensure clients can access education, training, or work placements.

· Manage a diverse caseload, ensuring regular follow-ups, accurate record-keeping (BOMI), and progress against KPIs in line with funder requirements.

· Contribute to team collaboration and service improvement, including cover in outreach offices, participation in internal working groups, and compliance with quality standards (Q Mark).

What We Offer:

Contract:
Full-time (35 hrs/week), 12 months fixed-term, extension subject to funding.

Salary:
Competitive salary within the stated scale €30,931 – €47,514 DOE.

Location:
Offices in Dun Laoghaire, Ballyogan, Dundrum, Ballinteer.

·
Reports to:
LAES Manager.

·
Probation:
6 months.

· Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).

· Online learning via DCM Training.

· Upon successful completion of probation, the opportunity to work 1 day per week remotely for administrative tasks.

About You:

We would like to hear from you if you have:

· A relevant qualification in
guidance, counselling, social work, community development, or employment services
(Level 7 or higher).

· At least 3 years' experience in
employment services, career guidance, counselling, job coaching, or related roles
.

· Experience supporting people facing barriers to work (long-term unemployed, vulnerable groups).

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and motivate clients.

· Excellent organisational skills, including caseload management, reporting, and use of IT systems.

· Passion for social impact and supporting people facing employment challenges.

· Strong IT skills (MS Office). BOMI experience desirable, full training provided.

· Full clean driving licence preferred; access to transport or use of public transport acceptable.

· Legal permission to work in Ireland.
