experienced Senior R&D Engineer

In this role:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transcatheter heart valve development to lead the design and commercialization of next-generation, minimally invasive medical devices. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams and external partners to drive the development of cutting-edge solutions for global markets
Responsibilities:
Lead the engineering design, development, and commercialization of next generation
products
• Apply mechanical and biomedical engineering principles to the design and performance
evaluation of prosthetic heart valves.
• Develop and refine technical expertise in delivery systems used in heart valve implantation,
testing, and characterization.
• Drive innovation by identifying and generating new intellectual property opportunities.
• Collaborate with key suppliers and internal teams to create prototype solutions and refine
them through testing and iteration.
• Translate designs from proof of concept to full commercialization, ensuring thorough
documentation and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Conduct rigorous testing, including statistical data analysis, to validate designs and ensure
product performance.
• Engage with external clinicians and consultants to ensure product designs meet real-world
clinical needs and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical leadership within the project team and mentor junior engineers to achieve
project objectives.
• Maintain cutting-edge knowledge of advancements in heart valve technology and related
competitive products.
• Interface with suppliers to establish materials and manufacturing processes, ensuring
alignment with product specifications and tolerances and business needs.
• Support manufacturing and quality teams in improving existing products, focusing on
quality, cost, and performance enhancements.
Requirements:
-Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
* Proficiency in navigating medical device regulations and integrating manufacturability into
new product development.
* Strong working knowledge of global standards for cardiac valve prostheses.
* Expertise in medical device testing, particularly for vascular prostheses or catheter delivery
systems.
* Deep understanding of manufacturing processes for medical devices, with broad expertise
in related disciplines such as materials science
* Proficiency in statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab) and design excellence methodologies
(e.g., Six Sigma).
years of experience in heart valve systems or related medical device. development, with demonstrable clinical knowledge of cardiovascular device applications in human anatomy. Experience within medical device products is an advantage.
