We're a local artisan bakery celebrating the best of regional produce, naturally leavened sourdough, and classic viennoiserie. The Role
You'll lead our shop floor and sales efforts end-to-end: managing the FOH team, elevating customer experience, driving revenue, and keeping daily operations humming. It's a hands-on role perfect for someone who loves hospitality, knows great pastries, and is energized by targets, teamwork, and beautiful displays.
Key Responsibilities
Front of House Operations
Open/close the shop; oversee daily service, cleanliness, and presentation.
Manage POS, cash handling, till reconciliation, and reporting.
Maintain impeccable standards of food hygiene, allergen communication, and safety.
Sales & Revenue Growth
Set and track daily/weekly sales targets, average transaction value, and conversion.
Recruit, train, and schedule FOH team; lead pre-shift briefings.
Coach staff on product knowledge, service standards, and visual merchandising.
Foster a positive, inclusive culture with clear expectations and feedback loops.
Customer Experience
Greet guests warmly, guide selections, and tell the story of our sourcing and craft.
Inventory & Admin
Manage packaging, retail goods, and coffee/tea supplies; place orders.
Maintain staff rota, training records, and compliance documentation.
Qualifications
2+ years in retail/hospitality management (bakery, café, deli, or specialty food preferred).
Proven track record driving sales with excellent service.
Solid knowledge of artisan bread and viennoiserie (lamination, fermentation, shelf life).
Confident with POS systems, cash handling, and basic reporting.
Food safety certification (e.g., Level 2/Manager) or willingness to obtain.
Barista experience a plus; social media familiarity beneficial.
Skills & Attributes

Calm under pressure; great communicator and problem-solver.
Physically able to stand, lift, and work early mornings.
Reliable, organized, and proactive.
Schedule
Full-time; early mornings, weekends, and holiday periods required.
Typical shifts 7am to 3:30pm depending on bake and service.
