Legal Support Role
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-focused individual to join our team as a Legal Secretary.
Job Description:
The ideal candidate will have experience in practice, be familiar with case management systems, and possess the ability to multitask and provide administrative support to legal executives and solicitors.
Responsibilities:
* Prepare and draft legal documents such as court papers, contracts, and wills.
* Accompany solicitors to police cells or the courtroom as required.
* Manage all incoming telephone calls and respond accordingly.
* Oversee petty cash expenditures while maintaining accurate records of costs.
* Maintain schedules for appointments and meetings.
* Perform general administrative tasks as needed.
* Utilize in-house database software effectively.
* Schedule and coordinate court depositions, hearings, and other meetings.
* Ensure timely filing of documents with the court.
* Transcribe and proofread legal documents with precision.
Requirements and Qualifications:
* Minimum 1 year's experience as a paralegal or legal secretary.
* Familiarity with legal terminology and documents.
* Working knowledge of litigation management software systems.
* Able to type at a speed of at least 50 wpm with high accuracy.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
* Able to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
