Designer Group is a leading international M&E contractor delivering complex engineering solutions across energy, industrial, and infrastructure sectors.
Our Energy & Industrial division is supporting major projects across power generation, substations, utilities, and advanced industrial facilities.
We are now seeking an Electrical Construction Manager to lead site delivery on these projects driving execution from install through to commissioning.
This is a hands‑on leadership role focused on delivery, programme, and performance.

The Role
You will take full ownership of electrical construction delivery on site managing programme, teams, subcontractors, and ensuring safe, high-quality execution aligned to project and commercial targets.
Key Responsibilities
Lead electrical construction delivery on energy & industrial projects
Manage programme, sequencing and short-term planning (lookahead)
Supervise direct labour and subcontractors on site
Drive productivity, quality and safety across all activities
Monitor progress and issue weekly reports to senior stakeholders
Ensure installations align with design, specifications and standards
Coordinate materials, logistics and plant requirements
Liaise with clients, main contractors and multidisciplinary teams
Lead site and progress meetings
Ensure readiness for commissioning and manage handover
Mitigate risk of delays and avoid exposure to liquidated damages
Implement all HSEQ procedures and site compliance requirements
Deliver toolbox talks, inductions and enforce method statements
Maintain accurate site records, documentation and reporting
Support development of apprentices and junior team members
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience in an Electrical Construction Manager / Supervisor role
Strong background in energy, utilities, substations or industrial projects
Knowledge of electrical systems, controls and commissioning processes
Strong understanding of programme and site coordination
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and BIM models
Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills
Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple workstreams
Advantageous
Experience on substations, power generation or heavy industrial facilities
Exposure to BIM / Navisworks
