Senior Health and Safety Advisor - ConstructionMunster RegionMain ContractorCommercial and Pharmaceutical ProjectsBackgroundThe purpose of this role is to drive and maintain high standards of health and safety across all construction activities. The position is responsible for ensuring full compliance with legal requirements and recognised industry standards, promoting a proactive safety culture, and supporting site teams in delivering projects within a safe, efficient, and well-controlled working environment. This role is based in the Munster region.What's on offerCompetitive salary and package which includes a bonus and car allowance.Strong pipeline of workWorking with a respected global contractorKey ResponsibilitiesVerify subcontractor health and safety prequalification prior to mobilisation.Review and approve Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and construction methodologies.Support preparation and maintenance of Construction Phase Plans, Health & Safety Files, and Quality Plans.Ensure site inductions, task-specific training, and plant/equipment certifications are compliant with statutory requirements.Oversee delivery of Toolbox Talks and implementation of Safe Plans of Action (SPAs).Ensure Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and Quality Plans are developed and followed.Attend coordination meetings and provide ongoing health and safety guidance to site teams.Conduct regular site inspections and weekly HSE audits.Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.Liaise with clients and project teams to monitor and improve overall safety performance.Qualifications & ExperienceDiploma in Occupational Health and Safety (Dip OHS) or equivalent qualification.Strong knowledge of construction health and safety legislation and recognised best practices.Competent in Microsoft Office and digital safety management platforms.Proven experience implementing health and safety systems within live construction environments.Working knowledge of ISO management systems, particularly ISO 45001.
