We are looking to recruit an Automation Sales Engineer to join our expert instrumentation and automation team to focus on application solutions for the manufacturing industry from a range of products and systems. This is a predominately external role (On-site Client Visits) with In-office required with some travel to international events throughout the year.RoleAre you passionate about innovation, technology and sales? This role is designed for a professional who excels at identifying operational inefficiencies and finding engineering solutions that integrate hardware, control systems, and industrial software.The successful candidate will be responsible for the full sales lifecycle—from initial prospecting and technical discovery to the delivery of complex proposals in conjunction with other company teams as required. Beyond direct sales, you will serve as a strategic lead generator for our specialised Service and Industrial Automation departments, ensuring our clients receive a holistic ecosystem of support.How you will do it:Proactively identify and engage new industrial clients to promote our core hardware & software application offerings, including Automation hardware (PLCs, I/O, Drives and Industrial PCs), Controls (Pneumatic valves), Specific software applications (OEE, Cybersecurity and Monitoring), Automation Control Systems.You will conduct technical assessments to deploy automation hardware, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) software and Industrial Cybersecurity platforms, helping clients move toward secure, data-driven manufacturing.Maintain a high-frequency schedule of on-site technical visits to build rapport with engineering and plant leadership, balanced with internal strategy and proposal development.Act as a technical consultant, you will collaborate cross-departments to identify large-scale project opportunities, providing qualified leads to the Industrial Automation (Systems Integration) and Service (Calibration & Mapping) teams.Stay at the forefront of Industry 4.0 trends to effectively position our technology for emerging industrial trends.If you’re ready to combine your technical expertise with a love for sales, and work in a fast-paced, rewarding environment—BONNER is the place for you!What we look for:As the ideal candidate, you’ll have exceptional communication skills and the natural ability to build and expand relationships—both with clients and internal teams.Previous experience in external sales, account management, or a technical service environment, in the industrial or manufacturing sector is a significant advantage.PersonInstrumentation, Mechanical, Automation or Control Experience is requiredStrong communication skills (both verbal and written) with the ability to explain technical services to non-technical stakeholdersOrganisedExcellent communicatorFlexible / adaptableDisciplinedSelf Motivated with good presentation skillsCommercially aware and demonstrable success with achieving targets.Education & ExperienceExperience in a similar sales role; if not directly Instrumentation, a role where engineering or technical knowledge was required.Any level course in Instrumentation, Control, Automation or Engineering related course would be of benefitBenefitsStrong Team CultureCompetitive Salary - Depending on experienceCommission/BonusVehicle/AllowancePension ContributionsSickness BenefitsPermanent Health InsuranceDeath in Service BenefitTraining & Education AssistanceSupport and opportunities in Community Involvement / Wellness and ESG activities.How to ApplyApply OnlineOur CompanyJoin BONNER – A Leader in Innovation and Excellence for Over 45 Years!At BONNER, we’ve been providing world class calibration, instrumentation, and automation solutions for more than four decades.
