This 6-month contract opportunity offers the chance to develop your accounting skills in a fast-paced finance team. As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations and contributing to the preparation of monthly management accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
* Reconcile supplier invoices, staff expenses, and credit card transactions, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
* Perform bank reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and maintain the general ledger.
* Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, and journal entries.
* Support month-end and year-end close procedures, ensuring timely completion.
* Produce reports for internal stakeholders, providing valuable insights into financial performance.
* Ensure compliance with financial policies and internal controls, maintaining a high level of integrity.
* Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
* Provide ad-hoc finance support as needed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Proven experience with Accounts IQ accounting software, demonstrating proficiency and knowledge.
* A strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and month-end procedures, ensuring accurate financial recording.
* Experience preparing monthly management accounts, showcasing your ability to analyze and present financial data.
* High-level accuracy and attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools, enhancing productivity and efficiency.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills, enabling effective teamwork and stakeholder engagement.
* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines, demonstrating self-motivation and discipline.
* AAT qualified or part-qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA, with a desire to continue professional development.
