Role SummaryAs Senior Tax Auditor / Tax Compliance Specialist, you will support and lead tax audit and compliance engagements for corporate and personal clients. You will ensure clients meet their statutory obligations, identify tax risks, advise on compliance and tax planning, and liaise with Irish tax authorities as needed. You will play a key role in safeguarding clients' tax positions and providing added-value tax advice. Key ResponsibilitiesConduct comprehensive tax audits and compliance reviews for corporate and private clients across various sectors.Review and validate tax returns (corporation tax, VAT, employment tax, personal income tax) for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Irish tax law.Identify discrepancies, potential exposures or tax‑related risks; recommend corrective actions or optimization measures.Prepare tax audit reports, documentation and supporting schedules; ensure timely filing and compliance with statutory deadlines.Liaise with tax authorities (e.g. Irish Revenue) on behalf of clients where required — manage correspondence, audit inquiries, and compliance reviews.Provide advisory support to clients on tax compliance strategy, tax planning opportunities, and implications of legislative changes.Support personal tax compliance and planning for individual clients (income tax, capital gains, succession planning), where applicable.Collaborate with broader audit, accounting and advisory teams to deliver integrated services to clients.Stay up-to-date with Irish and international tax legislation, regulations, and compliance requirements. Requirements & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field — or equivalent relevant qualification.Professional qualification preferred (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CTA) or working toward such designation.Several years (typically 3–5+) of experience in tax compliance, auditing or public accounting — ideally in a professional services firm.Solid knowledge of Irish tax law, including corporation tax, VAT, employment tax, personal income tax, and compliance obligations.Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and manage multiple engagements.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal — ability to interact with clients, tax authorities, and internal teams.Proficiency with tax software, accounting/ERP systems and MS Office tools.Client‑focused mindset, with strong problem-solving skills and ability to deliver high-quality service under deadlines.
