Role Purpose
The Assistant Finance Manager is a qualified accountant responsible for managing the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of Group financial operations. This role combines operational leadership with core reporting duties, including oversight of Accounts Receivable, ownership of month‑end reporting for assigned entities, and process improvement within ERP systems. The postholder acts as deputy to the Finance Manager, providing technical leadership and strengthening internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
* Operational Finance & Controls:
o The full Accounts Receivable (AR) cycle (invoicing, receipts, reconciliation, and debt management) for the Group.
o Daily bank reconciliations and authorisation of payment batches, ensuring dual signatory and internal controls are maintained.
* Reporting & Governance:
o Coordinate and own the month‑end close, ensuring all journals and adjustments are completed on time.
o Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and audit working papers.
* Process Improvement & Leadership:
o Drive system automation and process improvements within the primary ERP system (e.g., Sage Intacct).
o Deputise for the Finance Manager in their absence, including month‑end sign‑off and payment authorisations.
Requirements
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with 3+ years PQE.
* Experience using a major ERP system (e.g., Sage Intacct) and advanced Excel skills.
