This is a Network Engineering position responsible for supporting business operations with a focus on Capital Markets and related environments. Key responsibilities include managing network infrastructure and telecom systems, ensuring uninterrupted operations, conducting scheduled maintenance, and overseeing project implementation. Areas of expertise include switching, routing, security, automation, load balancing, cloud services, and logistics.
Role Objectives
* Provide second-level support for network infrastructure issues reported through internal ticketing platforms.
* Analyze alerts and events from network monitoring tools and collaborate with senior staff to resolve issues.
* Participate in assigned network infrastructure projects.
* Support system installations at various sites.
* Assist other IT teams with support requests and during project implementations.
* Maintain and support network infrastructure in local telecommunication rooms and associated hardware.
* Coordinate with vendors to support network infrastructure components.
Qualifications and Skills
* 5–8 years of professional experience in network engineering
* Strong knowledge of configuration and troubleshooting for routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers (e.g., Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Cisco, F5, Gigamon)
* Proficiency in routing protocols: OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, NAT, LACP, CDP, UDLD, VPC, DNS, DHCP
* Understanding of LAN, MAN, WAN, SD-Access, SD-WAN, and Wi-Fi network design
* Strong ability to troubleshoot across OSI layers 1–7 for data, voice and video networks
* Experience with network management tools such as Cisco ISE, Cisco DNAC, SolarWinds, LogicMonitor and NetBrain
* Familiarity with network automation using Ansible and Python
* Ability to support integrated data, voice, and video networks
* Capability to manage and complete tasks and projects independently
* Experience performing copper and fiber cabling work
* Knowledge of configuring and supporting cloud infrastructure components
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting incidents, support tasks, and project updates
* Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities
Additional Information
This role follows a hybrid work model, allowing for both remote and in-office work in Tralee. Employees are expected to reside within a reasonable commuting distance from their assigned office location. Specific hybrid schedules will be discussed during the interview process.
