Role Overview
As a member of our quality team, you will ensure products meet established requirements and standards through audits, inspections, and tests at our Shannon site. You will analyze quality trends, support production on quality-related issues, investigate customer complaints, qualify and monitor suppliers, and maintain a robust quality system that complies with all relevant regulatory requirements. You will collaborate with cross-functional departments, suppliers, and external experts to implement Zimmer Quality goals.
How You'll Create Impact
Formulate procedures, specifications, and standards for Zimmer products and processes.
Lead quality engineering projects from concept through design, implementation, testing, documentation, support, and maintenance.
Develop and implement corrective/preventative action plans.
Collect and analyze data for gauge and product evaluation.
Maintain an effective quality system compliant with relevant regulatory requirements.
Ensure all validation activity is properly executed and documented.
Investigate customer complaints in depth and implement corrective and preventative actions.
Identify critical personnel, gauges, procedures, and materials needed for new product development.
Ensure suppliers have necessary information and facilities to deliver quality products.
Evaluate new suppliers and coordinate corrective actions when required.
Implement an effective receiving inspection process.
What Makes You Stand Out
Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
Expertise in blueprint reading and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
Understanding of QSR/ISO regulations.
Quality system auditing techniques.
Design assurance, FMEA, and product testing methods; ability to use optical comparators and CMMs.
Knowledge of statistics, process control, and process capability.
Ability to work within a team and build relationships across departments and outside the company.
Facilitate team efforts on quality engineering projects.
Strong results orientation with deadline delivery.
Excellent oral and written communication at multiple organizational levels.
Your Background
Third level degree in engineering or science.
Certification as a quality engineer (e.g., CQE) preferred.
