We are looking for a Transport Major Projects Manager to lead the planning and delivery of major transport schemes, including road, rail, public transport, active travel, and public realm projects across Ireland.
This role involves managing multidisciplinary teams, overseeing project development from concept through construction, and ensuring projects meet technical, regulatory, and stakeholder requirements.
Responsibilities
Lead the planning, design, and delivery of major transport infrastructure projects.
Manage multidisciplinary project teams and mentor junior staff.
Oversee feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed design, and statutory approvals.
Manage Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIAR) and Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) processes.
Prepare and administer construction contracts and oversee procurement activities.
Maintain strong client relationships and support business development initiatives.
Lead proposal preparation and contribute to winning major transport project bids.
Ensure projects comply with applicable design standards and deliver practical, buildable solutions.
Requirements
Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (Level 8/9).
15+ years of experience in the transport engineering space.
Chartered Engineer status.
Significant experience delivering transport infrastructure projects within a consultancy environment.
Knowledge of transport planning and design processes in Ireland, including statutory and procurement procedures.
Experience with NEC and Irish Public Works Contracts.
Familiarity with design and build project delivery.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Full Irish or EU driving licence.
Along with the 85-95k salary is a car allowance and private medical equal to ~€10k
This role offers the opportunity to lead high-impact infrastructure projects that work on national transport networks at an Associate Director level in the company.
