Barden is proud to partner with a global technology leader in their search for a Cross-Functional Quality Engineer to join them on a
one-year contract supporting a major project.
Reporting into senior leaders within a high-performing quality function, you'll take ownership of cross-functional testing initiatives spanning both business and technical teams. This is a unique opportunity to shape quality at scale, driving excellence across systems that serve millions of customers worldwide.
This is a hybrid role, with the team based on-site three days per week in Cork.
ABOUT THE ROLE
* Lead the planning and execution of large-scale, cross-functional testing initiatives with a focus on User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
* Partner with business and technical teams to design comprehensive test plans and ensure requirements traceability.
* Drive meetings ranging from small working groups to large-scale stakeholder sessions, ensuring clarity of actions and accountability.
* Leverage automation to improve efficiency and quality in test preparation and execution.
* Manage resourcing, scheduling, and reporting to deliver successful outcomes on complex projects.
* Contribute to testing transformation by introducing innovative methodologies and best practices.
ABOUT THE PERSON
* Significant experience leading testing/QA initiatives, particularly in planning and managing cross-functional testing.
* Strong understanding of different testing methodologies and proven ability to embed a quality-first mindset.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at multiple levels.
* Flexible, curious, and collaborative, with a focus on continuous improvement.
* Experience with system/software architecture models and cross-project QA structures is an advantage.
Preferred
: Background in SAP (including R/3 to S/4 HANA migration), supply chain/logistics testing, or freight/logistics providers. Relevant certifications (ISTQB, PMI, etc.) are highly desirable.
