Job Specification – IT Test Analyst
Key Requirements
* 3–5 years of experience as a Test Analyst in Business Systems development.
* IT-related 3rd level qualification (e.g., Computer Science degree or equivalent).
* Strong knowledge of Life and Pensions industry processes.
* Proven experience in delivering at least one project within the last 4 years involving Public Applications, CRM, or Cloud systems.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with particular strength in documentation.
* High level of personal responsibility for accuracy, quality, and attention to detail.
* Certification in a formal Test or Quality methodology (desirable).
Responsibilities
* Develop, execute, and maintain test cases and scripts based on detailed analysis of functional and non-functional specifications (reliability, efficiency, usability, maintainability, portability).
* Create and maintain traceability between test cases and requirements.
* Produce test materials, regression packs, and specify requirements for environments, data, resources, and tools.
* Establish and evolve formal QA processes, ensuring adoption of industry best practices.
* Oversee all aspects of quality assurance, including defining metrics, applying standards, and developing tools/processes to ensure quality goals are achieved.
* Act as the key point of contact for QA activities in releases, coordinating internal and external QA resources.
* Record, analyse, and report test results; maintain a defect register; and provide risk/issue reporting.
* Review results, update tests as needed, and provide specialist advice to project teams.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to SDLC methodologies.
* Work independently with minimal supervision while also mentoring and supporting team members.
