Project Worker, Resettlement, Tenancy Support Service, North West
Location: Sligo
Contract: Part Time, 1 year Fixed Term
The purpose of this role is to provide supports to households that are at risk of becoming homeless, or experiencing homelessness, in order to assist them to occupy accommodation and sustain independent living.
What you will do:
* Work within the overall objectives, policies, procedures and best‑practice standards of Focus Ireland, including Health & Safety requirements.
* Build strong professional relationships and collaborate effectively with a wide range of agencies, professionals and community services.
* Work as part of a multidisciplinary, multi‑agency team to coordinate statutory and support services through a strong case‑management approach.
* Provide support to an agreed number of households, delivering appropriate programmes based on assessed customer needs.
* Conduct assessments and develop, monitor and update customer care plans, needs assessments and support plans, ensuring accurate and up‑to‑date records (including PASS).
* Advocate on behalf of customers to external services to ensure their needs are represented and addressed.
* Develop effective community links with accommodation and service providers to support collaborative work with customers.
* Provide one‑to‑one, intensive support to households, including lone working in homes and remote locations in line with agreed standards.
* Support customers to sustain their tenancy/accommodation, including rent management, maintenance, cleanliness, addressing anti‑social behaviour and resolving disputes.
* Report Child Protection concerns as required and attend all relevant meetings, reviews and organisational forums, following up on agreed actions.
* Participate in regular supervision, training and development; remain vigilant to health, safety and welfare risks and escalate concerns appropriately.
* Contribute to policy development and undertake additional duties as reasonably assigned by the Line Manager.
What you will need:
* A Third Level qualification at degree level in the area of social care i.e. youth work, social studies, addiction, psychology, etc and/or be a CORU registered Social Care Worker
* Full drivers licence and use of a car.
* 2 years direct experience in the social care field.
* A working knowledge and understanding of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention model.
* Experience of working with customers who have co-existing conditions.
* Excellent report writing and strong IT skills.
* Ability to work well in a team environment, social care based or clinical disciplines.
* Experience of working and liaising with other organisations.
* Communication skills.
* Knowledge and understanding of the complex needs of homeless and hard to reach customers.
* Ability to Plan and Implement Programmes.
* Flexibility in approach to work.
