Responsibilities
As a Senior Network Support Specialist in IBM Sovereign Core, you will serve as a key technical specialist responsible for supporting highly secure, sovereign cloud environments deployed across on‑premises, partner‑operated, and fully isolated (air‑gapped) infrastructures, built on Red Hat OpenShift and integrated with IBM’s AI, automation, and governance capabilities.
You will handle complex incidents, provide deep troubleshooting expertise, and work closely with customers operating in highly regulated and jurisdiction‑sensitive environments.
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Support Specialist to help troubleshoot large‑scale, mission‑critical secure environments. This role focuses on advanced problem resolution, customer trust, and technical depth, with growing influence across teams and environments. You will work across modern data‑center architectures, cloud‑native platforms, and highly regulated infrastructures ensuring network services are resilient, robust, and high‑performing. Operate as a senior, independent resolver for complex issues, provide technical leadership in incident handling, and partner effectively across teams.
Due to the nature of this role and the associated client requirements, which include working with EU‑based customers in a sovereign environment, applicants must, by the job start date, lawfully reside in, be legally authorized to work in, and perform the role exclusively within the EU country of employment.

Bachelor’s Degree
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Strong hands‑on troubleshooting across TCP/IP, DNS, routing, and firewall/ACL controlled environments, with the ability to isolate fault domains quickly and accurately.
Deep operational knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift/Kubernetes networking, including pod/service networking, OpenShift Routes/Ingress Controllers, and NetworkPolicy‑driven segmentation.
Experience supporting restricted and disconnected (air‑gapped) environments, including internal registries/mirrors, proxy‑controlled egress, and tightly governed network change processes.
Support and troubleshoot BGP edge and internal routing issues
Diagnose and resolve control plane and data plane failures
Support multi‑tenant isolation using VLAN, VXLAN, and EVPN
Confident communicator who can work effectively with customer network/security teams and internal engineering/SRE to resolve complex incidents under strict sovereignty and compliance constraints.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
MetalLB and Load Balancer Operations – Experience configuring and troubleshooting MetalLB, including VIP management, failover behaviour, and load‑balancer troubleshooting.
Experience supporting hub‑spoke network topologies for managed clusters, including cross‑cluster connectivity and consistent network‑policy enforcement across multi‑cluster environments.
NetBox IPAM / DCIM Operations – Hands‑on experience with NetBox data model and API usage, network device inventory management, and integration with network automation tools.
This role may require candidates to contribute to a shared shift and on‑call rotation as part of collaborative incident response support.
