Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Advisor – Dublin
An EHS Advisor is responsible for ensuring that the specific facility or project is set up and operates in compliance with JEG EHS standards, Client EHS requirements and legal EHS obligations. The following are some key responsibilities:
* Safety Management System: development and implementation of the JEG safety management system on site in partnership with the Site EHS Lead.
* Risk Assessment: Implement good practice risk management methods like RAMS (Risk Assessment/Method Statements), HIRA (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment), Safe Plans of Action, Pre Start Plans deign in partnership with the Site EHS Lead.
* Incident Investigation: Use "Root Cause Analysis" (e.g., the 5 Whys) to determine why an accident happened and how to prevent it from recurring in partnership with the Site EHS Lead.
* Auditing: Implement JEG site auditing programme to ensure monitoring of compliance is established in partnership with the Site EHS Lead.
* Training: Develop and deliver the necessary safety training to relevant personal in partnership with the Site EHS Lead.
* Unsafe Action / Unsafe Condition Reporting: Drive the JEG Safety Observation Reports on site to eliminate and minimise risk in partnership with the Site EHS Lead..
* Documentation: Maintain all necessary safety documentation as per the JEG approach including RAMS, Audits, Incidents etc in partnership with the Site EHS Lead..
* Data Literacy: Using JEG IT platforms, record, collate and interpret leading and lagging data to drive site decision making in partnership with the Site EHS Lead.
* Emergency Response: Develop and drill site emergency scenarios such as fires, falls, equipment drops, chemical spills, or medical events in partnership with the Site EHS Lead.
* Coaching & Mentoring: Coach & Mentor workers and supervisors to take ownership of their own safety and the safety of others.
* Transparent Reporting: The ability to communicate complex risks to senior leadership in a way that highlights business impact.
* Environmental Stewardship: Managing the environmental aspects to stay aligned to ISO 14001 certification.
* Health & Wellness: Oversee and promote health programmes and campaigns in partnership with the Site EHS Lead.
* Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all permits are up-to-date and the site is always "audit-ready" in partnership with the Site EHS Lead.
* Strategy: Contributes to the direction for new equipment, processes, standards, or operational plans based on site strategy with a significant impact on work group results.
* Improvement: Develops solutions to complex problems, and/or makes moderate improvements of processes, systems or products independently to enhance performance.
Requirements:
* 4 years' experience, preferably in a similar role.
* Level 7 or 8 National Framework Qualification equivalent.
* Good written and verbal, organisational and interpersonal skills.
* Proficient in MS Office.
* Ability to influence without authority.
