Overview
We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a long-standing utility and infrastructure contractor operating across Ireland. This role is a permanent, full-time opportunity focused on major civils frameworks supporting the delivery of power, fibre, water, and gas infrastructure under the National Development Plan.
The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing commercial operations across multi-site projects, ensuring robust cost control, accurate forecasting, and successful contract performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead all commercial activities across assigned civil utility projects, from pre-construction to final account
* Prepare and review CVRs, forecasts, and variation assessments
* Manage subcontractor procurement, documentation, and payment cycles
* Monitor project cash flow, profit margins, and risk exposure
* Collaborate with project managers, delivery teams, and clients to align commercial goals
* Support bid teams with pricing, margin planning, and commercial risk analysis
Requirements
* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related discipline
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a QS role within
utility civils, infrastructure, or frameworks
* Strong understanding of NEC or Irish public works contracts
* Excellent commercial reporting, negotiation, and risk management skills
* Proficiency in Excel; experience with cost reporting tools preferred
* Knowledge of trenching, ducting, reinstatement, and network build costs
