These are long-term contract opportunities with a global engineering consultancy, supporting projects nationwide in Ireland, with current requirements in Cork, Clare, Fingal, Limerick and Louth.
Working in the M&E engineering and water sector, you will collaborate closely with regional contractors, local authorities and design teams to help ensure works are delivered safely, compliantly and to the required standard.
Role overview As an M&E Resident Engineer working on water and wastewater projects nationwide, you will provide on-site supervision and day-to-day contract administration to support the delivery of new and upgraded network improvements.
Working closely with Regional Contractors, Irish Water design teams and Local Authorities, you will help ensure works are delivered safely, in full compliance with contractual requirements and legislation, and to the required quality standards.
This is a long-term contract role with multiple opportunities across Ireland, involving site visits, stakeholder coordination, reporting, record keeping, and oversight of key project deliverables including audits, trackers, work orders, service requests, as-laid drawings, snagging and close-out.
Key Responsibilities Provide on-site supervision and management across a programme of water and wastewater network improvement works (new and upgrade projects).
Work closely with Regional Contractors to ensure delivery in full compliance with contract requirements and relevant legislation.
Liaise with Local Authorities and project stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
Carry out HSQE audits, manage HSQE issues, and ensure strong health and safety standards are maintained on site.
Process work orders, service request approvals, and associated project documentation.
Maintain and update project trackers and records, ensuring accurate reporting and traceability.
Review and approve as-built/as-laid drawings and close-out documentation.
Support IW Design Engineers by providing site feedback, clarifications, and practical input to facilitate delivery.
Attend, chair, and manage meetings with Regional Contractors and IW, providing updates to Regional Leads as required.
Manage and respond to complaints and site issues, ensuring appropriate follow-up and resolution.
Create snag lists, track completion, and sign off works when completed to the required standard.
Visit sites prior to works commencing to identify potential issues, mitigate risks, and report findings to the design team.
Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience 7-10 years' satisfactory post-graduate experience in on-site supervision/site engineering, ideally on water and/or wastewater projects (e.g., WWTW/WWTP, WTP, pumping stations) Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar) Strong understanding of Health & Safety procedures and regulations, with experience managing HSQE on site (including audits and issue resolution) Current, valid Safe Pass card (confined spaces training is desirable) Ability to write clear, concise reports and maintain accurate site/works records (including trackers and as-built/as-laid documentation) Proven ability to work collaboratively with contractors, design teams and stakeholders, including local authorities and project leads Strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) Flexibility to travel to sites as required across Ireland How to apply If you believe this M&E Resident Engineer - Water / Wastewater role aligns with your experience, please apply via the button provided.
