Meissner has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Manager to join our highly motivated and dynamic HR team at our Castlebar manufacturing facility.
The HR Manager will lead the HR and EHS functions at our Castlebar manufacturing facility.
As HR Manager, you will oversee the full spectrum of HR and EHS activities on site, working closely with the Associate Director of HR, global HR teams and site leadership to deliver both strategic and operational HR & EHS initiatives.
This role requires a strong leader who can balance day-to-day HR management with forward-looking projects that enhance employee engagement, organisational effectiveness, and compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Act as a right hand to the Associate Director of HR.
Lead and manage HR and EHS functions, providing strategic and operational HR & EHS leadership for Castlebar.
Build strong relationships with business leaders and managers, collaborating with them to understand their needs, challenges, and goals, provide tailored HR and EHS solutions and support.
Coach managers and leaders to manage & develop their teams and handle HR and EHS issues efficiently, appropriately and effectively.
Partner with leaders and managers to ensure effective Performance Management/Probation processes are followed through effective goal setting for each department and individual based on strategic business goals.
Ensure effective and timely Performance Reviews are carried out by all managers consistently across all functions.
Liaise with the EHS Consultant and internal teams to ensure the timely resolution of open actions and the effective administration of the EHS Management System.
Ensure consistent and equitable application of Meissner HR policies, including Time and Attendance Management and Performance/Probation Management, by providing guidance and oversight to people managers.
Oversee the payroll and benefits administration for Castlebar and other EU jurisdictions as assigned, in conjunction with the HR team.
Lead the compensation/merit review process for Castlebar in partnership with the Leadership Team.
Work closely with leaders and managers to align HR and EHS strategies and initiatives with the organisation's overall business objectives and goals.
Facilitate programs that enhance employee engagement and well-being.
Oversee effective and efficient resolution of all employee relations matters.
Reviewing challenges, creating a plan for resolution and ensuring the plan is followed through to completion.
Oversee appropriate investigation and/or disciplinary procedures.
Keep up-to-date on employment & EHS laws and regulations, as well as other legal requirements to direct the creation, interpretation, and application of HR & EHS policies throughout the facility.
Proactively research, evaluate new trends, propose and implement best practices in HR and EHS to enhance organisational effectiveness.
Ongoing review our current HR/EHS/Performance Management Processes to continually improve, streamline and align globally where possible.
Work with HRL and HR Team in Castlebar to effectively plan and lead HR & EH&S projects aimed at driving organisational change, improving HR processes, enhancing employee engagement, and supporting business growth to including, planning, implementation & communications in relation to projects.
Manage ongoing evaluations of benefits programs to ensure competitiveness and effectiveness.
Work with the HR Team to ensure HR Data is accurate and up to date on all relevant HR systems (Currently Paylocity & Softworks) in line with GDPR.
Utilise HR analytics and metrics to develop HR initiatives that address gaps and capitalise on opportunities and also to identify trends and insights.
Oversee GDPR compliance, including policies and training, and ensure HR data is managed within the requirements of the HR Department, GDPR & Data Protection legislation.
Qualifications, Education & Experience

BSc in Human Resources and/or Employment Law qualification or a relevant discipline.
3+ years' experience within a HR Strategic/Leadership role, ideally within a multinational progressive organisation with a proven reputation for working in a demanding and competitive environment.
Experience in HR business partnering with ownership for a business area.
A thorough knowledge of Employment Law, practices and their application, with a proven track record in dealing with employee relations issues.
Experience in EH&S is advantageous but not an essential.
Proven ability to build strong relationships with senior leaders.
Strong team player with the ability to engage and influence.
Excellent organisational skills with keen attention to detail.
Strong IT proficiency and administrative skills.
Physical Demands
Occasional work may be done in an ISO Class 7 cleanroom environment.
Powder free gloves, face masks, hairnets, gowns, and shoe covers must be worn.
Because smokers continue to shed thousands of smoke particles even hours after smoking a cigarette and these particles will damage our products, only non-smokers are permitted to enter or work in the cleanroom.
As a result, the successful candidate must be a nonsmoker.
