Job Overview
We are seeking a qualified and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring value for money while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documentation.
* Evaluate and negotiate tenders and contracts.
* Monitor project budgets and control costs throughout the project lifecycle.
* Carry out site valuations and prepare interim payment applications and final accounts.
* Liaise with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
* Provide advice on contractual claims and procurement strategies.
* Prepare reports including cost plans, feasibility studies, and financial progress reports.
* Ensure compliance with building regulations, safety standards, and company procedures.
Requirements
* Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics (or equivalent).
* Minimum 3+ years of relevant post-graduate experience (PQE).
* Membership of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI) or working towards chartership.
* Strong understanding of Irish construction contracts (e.g., Public Works Contract, RIAI).
* Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office and construction measurement software (e.g., Cubit, CostX, or similar).
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and within a team.
* Full driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
* Experience working on public sector projects in Ireland.
* Knowledge of BIM and digital construction practices.
* Chartered status with SCSI/RICS.
