Role Overview
This role plays a crucial part in supporting and overseeing underwriting operations within the Governance and Excellence team. The Underwriting Governance Analyst will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing governance processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards, and providing key insights to senior stakeholders.
This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented professional who thrives in a structured environment and is keen to contribute to process enhancements and governance initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

Ensure effective underwriting controls are in place and adhered to across the organisation within set timeframes.
Manage and oversee exception reporting processes within underwriting governance.
Oversee and coordinate coverholder audit processes to maintain regulatory and operational compliance.
Monitor and improve data quality within underwriting governance, addressing any reporting discrepancies.
Support the implementation of underwriting governance frameworks and ensure company‑wide adherence.
Analyse reporting trends and provide insights to senior management.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to broader company initiatives.
Maintain compliance with all legal and regulatory obligations, ensuring appropriate controls are in place.

Skills & Experience Required

Minimum of three years’ experience in a governance, audit, or controls‑related role.
Understanding of underwriting and insurance processes, particularly within Lloyd’s or company markets.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across different levels of the business.
Proficiency in Excel and Power BI, alongside competency in other MS Office applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to handle complex discussions.
Familiarity with underwriting systems and a capacity to quickly learn new processes.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing workloads effectively within deadlines.
Experience in fast‑paced environments, demonstrating problem‑solving skills and adaptability.
