Job Title: Environmental Steward
About the Role:
This is a key position within our organization, responsible for maintaining and enhancing our Environmental Management System. The successful candidate will be based at our headquarters in Tuam, Co Galway, with regular travel to additional sites.
Main Responsibilities:
* Maintain and enhance the Group Environmental Management System
* Ensure compliance across Ireland and the UK
* Promote a positive environmental culture
* Develop and review policies, procedures, and safe systems of work
* Conduct risk assessments, inspections, and audits
* Oversee contractor management and compliance
* Deliver induction and ongoing EHS training
* Liaise with authorities including the HSA, HSE, EPA, and Fire Department
* Manage chemical safety and hazardous waste processes
* Lead incident investigations
* Analyse data and identify improvement opportunities
* Support HR with policy updates and documentation
