Our team is expanding to meet growing demand, and we are seeking an Energy Engineer to join us in advancing Ireland's low-carbon transition.
Position Overview
The Energy Engineer will be responsible for carrying out technical assessments, energy modelling, and project design in support of KRA Renewables' portfolio of retrofit and renewable energy projects. The role involves site-based and office-based work, ensuring that projects meet technical, regulatory, and client requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Conduct energy audits, site surveys, and technical assessments for residential, commercial, and community projects.
* Develop energy models, calculations, and proposals to optimise building performance and renewable energy integration.
* Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications in accordance with SEAI and Irish building regulations.
* Support the design and delivery of renewable systems including heat pumps, solar PV, and building fabric upgrades.
* Provide technical input to grant applications, tender submissions, and compliance documentation.
* Liaise with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure quality delivery of works.
* Monitor installation works, carry out inspections, and ensure adherence to health, safety, and quality standards.
* Contribute to research, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives within the business.
Essential Requirements
* Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Energy, or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
* Minimum 2 years' relevant experience in energy engineering, renewable energy, or building retrofit.
* Working knowledge of SEAI schemes, BER assessments, and Irish building regulations.
* Proficiency in energy modelling and reporting software (e.g. DEAP, PHPP, SAP, or equivalent).
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
* Full driving licence and willingness to travel for site visits.
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Experience with SEAI One Stop Shop processes or community energy projects.
* Proficiency in CAD or other design tools.
* Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership.
* Postgraduate qualification in energy/renewable engineering.
