Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced operational procurement manager to lead and inspire a team through a significant transformation in how operational purchasing is approached.
The primary mission of this role is to foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement, moving the organization away from legacy systems and towards a formalized, integrated procurement environment.
You will empower your team to embrace new systems and processes, ensuring that every member understands their role in delivering efficient, transparent, and reliable procurement outcomes.
This role demands a hands-on leader who excels at people management and is passionate about driving cultural change.
Your Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain the site's operational purchasing programs and processes, determining what to replenish, when to replenish, and how much to replenish.
2. Be directly accountable for material shortages, material values, and volumes.
3. Implement best practice use of systems functionality (SAP, PP/MRP) to support timely replenishment of raw materials and indirect products and services.
4. Maintain purchasing controls in line with our policies and procedures and within regulatory standards.
5. Monitor and evaluate supplier performance and ensure corrective actions are taken to address performance issues.
6. Work closely with Logistics to optimize inbound freight charges and associated physical storage and movement costs.
7. Design and drive raw material reduction initiatives that favorably influence inventory/working capital.
8. Deliver cut-over of engineering changes reducing scrap wastage.
9. Ensure programmes that drive supplier compliance are effective and positively alter supplier performance/behavior.
10. Provide operational oversight of procurement processes ensuring financial compliance.
11. Support execution of Strategic Procurement initiatives in areas of supplier selection, dual sourcing, risk management, and part transfers.
12. Play a key role in NPI/NPD.

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
* Direct experience of managing an inventory planning/buying function in a time-pressurized, significant volume SKU component environment.
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
* Proven professional experience within an inventory management/buying function within a manufacturing environment.
* Experience working with SAP would be advantageous but is not essential.
