Purpose of Role: To maintain essential ICT operations across the environment including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, endpoints and user management.
Manage business critical IT tasks and systems to ensure they are running optimally.
Work with staff to evaluate, recommend and implement solutions that meet business requirements.
Responsibilities: Perform server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly.
Maintain infrastructure requirements including, endpoints, servers, virtualisation, cloud, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, telecoms, security updates; support internet, intranet, LANs and network segments.
Perform regular backups operations and implement process for data protection and disaster recovery.
Install and upgrades of computer components and upgrades of systems with new releases and models ensuring all systems are within support of vendor life-cycle.
Manage Helpdesk to ensure issue resolution using root cause analysis, performance reporting and reviewing trends to identify areas for continuous improvement.
Manage Endpoint computing ensuring all devices are secure and updated with the latest security patches and applications updates.
Provide recommendations on equipment ensuring all devices are fit for purpose.
Manage and participate in project teams within IT and across other areas of the business.
Maintain asset register of inventory for hardware, software and licenses.
Develop and maintain documentation in relation to IT procedures, manuals and drawings.
Maintain SharePoint environment and development of new processes as per business requirements.
Develop skillset and knowledge of IT systems while keeping abreast of industry news and trends.
Apply Lean tools and techniques such as 5S, 8 step problem solving and standard work to all areas of I.T. Competencies Experience: 3+ year's experience as an IT Systems Administrator or similar role.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies including server desktop operating systems, Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
Experience with AI tools such as Microsoft Co-Pilot desirable.
Experience working with business systems such as QAD and OT manufacturing systems.
Experience of administrating SharePoint, MS Teams, Office, InTune, Experience in LAN, WAN, WiFi networks.
Enterprise Backup and DR solutions - Veeam and Zerto an advantage.
Knowledge of virtualisation technologies such as Citrix and VMware desirable.
Security - experience in Anti virus, encryption firewalls Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
