Responsibilities:
1. Solution-focused diagnosis and implementation of permanent solutions to manufacturing issues using structured problem-solving approaches.
2. Technical responsibility for OEE metrics, including yield and downtime, with communication and escalation of critical downtime events and recovery planning.
3. Support for equipment and product changeovers, implementing continuous improvements such as SMED to reduce changeover times.
4. Completion and ongoing improvement of preventative maintenance (PM) to optimize equipment performance.
5. Manage and maintain spare parts inventory to minimize equipment downtime.
6. Design jigs and fixtures to meet manufacturing requirements and improve existing processes.
7. Follow safe work systems, prioritize personal and team safety, and report hazards promptly.
8. Collaborate with production teams to prioritize daily and weekly actions.
9. Consider the impact of maintenance on energy performance and safety features of equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
10. Adhere to plant safety and health regulations, taking responsibility for safety aspects within your control.
11. Be aware of environmental impacts related to your work and ensure non-conformance is addressed.
12. Contribute to energy conservation and participate in continuous improvement activities related to OH&S, environmental, and energy management systems.
13. Train production operators in proper use of equipment and understanding of product specifications.
Qualifications:
* Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
* Ability to adapt and manage multiple tasks flexibly.
* Enthusiastic, positive attitude when dealing with people.
* Hands-on approach to diagnosing and fixing manufacturing issues.
* Systematic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
* Previous trade experience (Toolmaker, Fitter, Electrician, Mechanic, etc.) or NFQ Level 6 in a technical discipline (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Electrical).
* Mechanical, Electrical, or Lean Six Sigma certification is highly desirable.
* Experience with Grinding, Moulding, EDM, and/or Laser processes is a distinct advantage.
