Job Title: Care Assistant
Main Function of Job
To provide care and support for residents within the Christian ethos and aims of Trinity House.
Background Information
Trinity House is one of 6 homes for older people run by the Council for Social Witness (Older People Services) and is situated at a location that serves as a place of residence for 50 residents who have a variety of physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs and varying levels of dependency, including a unit for those with a diagnosis of dementia.
The Home operates under a No Smoking Policy.
Criteria Qualifications and Knowledge
Evidence of an understanding of and respect for the needs of older people is essential. The ability to undertake relevant training, such as induction training or NVQ / QCF level 2, is also required.
* Proficiency in understanding, communicating, and writing in English to the level required by the duties of the post.
* Basic numeracy skills are required by the duties of the post (as endorsed by an appropriate qualification or use of numeracy skills in a work or home environment).
Special Circumstances
The ability to work additional hours to fulfill the requirements of the Home is essential. A willingness to behave in a manner that respects the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland is also required. Furthermore, maintaining registration with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council is necessary.
