The Institute works in conjunction with the Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine (DAFM) and a network of other Government Departments, semi-state agencies, national and international marine partners.Summary of the Role:The Laboratory Analyst will primarily be responsible for undertaking analysis of veterinary residues in seafood, contributing to the residue monitoring programme and research initiatives. The data produced support assessments of progress towards national and international goals for safe seafood.This role is for a part time Laboratory Analyst, working 3 days per week ( 0.6 of a whole time equivalent / 22.5 hours per week).You will work as part of the Residues Team (~7 people) within the Marine Chemistry section, operating in a high-throughout laboratory environment. The primary responsibility of this role is to perform chemical analyses for pharmacologically active substances and other contaminants in fish and related matrices.
