Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist Specified Purpose, Part-Time
Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist Specified Purpose, Part-Time will work as a member of the physiotherapy and multi-disciplinary teams. The role involves providing a high-quality physiotherapy service to patients in assigned areas.
Purpose of the Women's Health/Obstetric Post
* Work with Obstetrics/Gynaecological/Urogynaecological Consultants and relevant healthcare professionals in triage of physiotherapy referrals.
* Link with clinics with relevant Consultant or Specialist Registrar such as perineal clinic, complex pelvic floor clinic, mental health trauma clinic
* Provide physiotherapy advanced assessment, management, and treatment of patients referred from obstetric/Women's health service.
* Work within the multidisciplinary team ethos and liaise with staff to ensure effective communication takes place at all times.
* Promote and ensure clinical effectiveness and a high standard of care following evidence-based guidelines.
* Evaluate and develop the clinical specialist role through clinical audit and research.
* Provide expert clinical lead for Women's Health and Continence senior/physiotherapy colleagues.
* Undertake other duties within the hospital as specified by the Physiotherapy Manager.
Clinical Practice
* Provide an expert clinical service to the Women's Health and Continence service.
* Ensure a high standard of physiotherapy assessment, treatment, and management is provided for patients.
* Respect patient privacy and dignity at all times.
* Adhere to professional standards and confidentiality protocols.
Education and Continuous Professional Development
* Lead, promote, and ensure clinical effectiveness through performance management, education, audit, and research.
* Collect and analyse data to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment and uphold standards of care through clinical audit and research.
* Keep abreast of research and practice developments in relevant clinical areas.
* Communicate with other clinical specialists throughout the country and internationally.
* Act as a resource to other physiotherapists/colleagues regarding the management of complex cases.
Working Practice
* Be aware of resource management and contribute to business planning and continuous quality improvement.
* Maintain comprehensive and accurate patient and activity records.
* Adhere to clinic standards of practice and protocols for written communication with GP's and referral sources.
