Meet The Team
You will join the Global Engineering team within Operations, providing regional leadership for Supplier Manufacturing Management (SMM) in EMEA. Your role involves end-to-end technical oversight of manufacturing technologies across suppliers, contract manufacturers, and automation houses, supporting on-market production and building a strong team to lead technical manufacturing processes such as injection molding and automated assembly. This position is vital to our growth and delivering life-changing products to our customers, offering broad exposure across the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities
1. Manage the regional engineering team, providing technical leadership in Design For Moldability/Manufacturability (DFMA), automation, mold development, and capacity initiatives.
2. Lead Process Technology Assessments for automation, molding, and process technologies, ensuring proper documentation and rationale.
3. Support installation, start-up, validation, and transfer of manufacturing equipment and processes across our contract manufacturing network.
4. Assess and improve injection molding, automation, and inspection processes to meet quality, cost, and capacity goals.
5. Contribute to the design of molds and automation equipment to optimize manufacturing solutions.
6. Provide technical guidance and support to suppliers and internal teams, fostering partnerships and continuous improvement.
Qualifications for Success
1. Provide leadership across technical disciplines, collaborating with manufacturing, R&D, supply chain, and quality teams.
2. Lead technology selection, process scale-up, and troubleshooting for high-volume manufacturing.
3. Travel to manufacturing sites as needed to investigate issues and support process improvements.
4. Collaborate with contract manufacturing teams on design for manufacturing and process optimization.
Key Competencies
1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, or related engineering with at least 10 years of experience in medical device manufacturing and automation.
2. Experience managing diverse engineering teams in molding, automation, and packaging.
3. Proven ability to mentor and develop engineering talent.
4. Experience with high-volume medical device manufacturing and automation suppliers.
5. Strong leadership, collaboration, and travel readiness.
6. Success in applying LEAN, KAIZEN, and Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement.
