Hands-On IT Infrastructure Engineer Needed
The Role:
Our client is seeking a skilled IT Infrastructure Engineer to support the implementation of a new data center and communications infrastructure at a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.
This role will serve as the on-site technical lead, working closely with the project manager to ensure the successful execution of all infrastructure and network deployment activities.
The ideal candidate will bring practical, real-world experience in IT infrastructure, including network setup, structured cabling, switch and wireless configuration, and will take ownership of day-to-day technical tasks on the ground.
Experience in GMP-regulated environments is highly preferred.
Responsibilities:
* Support the physical deployment of network and infrastructure components across the new site and 4 IDF/VDER areas.
* Install, configure, and troubleshoot network switches, wireless access points, and structured cabling systems (including patch panels and labelling).
* Perform network segmentation activities such as VLAN configuration and logical zone setups.
* Provide day-to-day oversight and coordination of third-party vendors during infrastructure installation.
* Collaborate with the broader IT and engineering team to ensure timely, compliant delivery of infrastructure milestones.
* Escalate delays, design inconsistencies, or non-conformances to the technical lead or project manager.
* Document all infrastructure activities, including red-line markup, labelling standards, and cable tracing.
* Ensure compliance with GMP, ISO, and internal IT standards for pharma manufacturing infrastructure.
Required Skills:
* 5+ years of hands-on IT infrastructure experience (data center, network rollout, or large office/lab setups).
* Strong understanding of basic network concepts: IP ranges, subnets, VLANs, switch port config.
* Experience working with infrastructure in regulated or high-availability environments (pharma, life sciences, healthcare, etc.).
* Familiarity with BICSI Class F3 standards and data center design principles.
* Ability to read and interpret infrastructure design schematics and Single Line Diagrams (SLDs).
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with tools like Cormant DCIM, RF-Code Asset Manager, or similar.
* Exposure to MEP systems (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) and their interface with IT.
* Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
