About Us: Carrigtwohill Pharmacy is a dedicated community-focused pharmacy. We pride ourselves on providing professional healthcare advice and a welcoming retail experience for our local patients and customers. We are looking for a friendly, motivated, and reliable individual to join our team as an Over the Counter (OTC) Assistant. The Role: As the first point of contact for many of our customers, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of the pharmacy. You will balance professional healthcare advice with high-quality retail service. Key Responsibilities: * Customer Service: Provide a warm, professional welcome to all customers and patients. * OTC Advice: Advise customers on over-the-counter medicines and health products (under the supervision of the Pharmacist). * Prescription Handling: Efficiently take in prescriptions and manage patient queries, ensuring a smooth hand-over to the dispensary team. * Retail Operations: Operate the till, handle cash/card transactions accurately, and assist with general merchandising. * Stock Management: Assist with checking in orders, restocking shelves, monitoring expiry dates, and maintaining a clean, organized shop floor. * Healthcare Support: Promoting our pharmacy services (e.g., flu vaccinations, blood pressure monitoring) to customers. Requirements: * Experience: Previous experience in a retail pharmacy environment is highly preferred. * Qualifications: Completion of an IPU Medicines Counter Assistant course is a distinct advantage (or a willingness to undertake training). * Skills: Strong communication skills, a "patient-first" attitude, and the ability to work well within a fast-paced team. * Reliability: Punctuality and a professional appearance are essential. * Availability: Must be able to commit to 16 hours per week.
