Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Equipment Technician to join our team. As a key member of our production department, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, overhaul, adjustment, and modification of all plant and production equipment.
Main Responsibilities:
* Install, modify, and maintain the full range of production equipment's;
* Continuously improve plant operations by reducing downtime and waste, addressing breakdowns, and fine-tuning production equipment to increase output;
* Assist in the complete validation of new and existing equipment, including acceptance trials and debugging;
* Liaise with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality of parts and materials;
* Analyse customer complaints and internal quality issues, and assist in drawing up improvement programs for equipment to eliminate defects;
* Train other technicians, new recruits, and apprentices as required;
* Participate in company-wide continuous improvement initiatives, working in teams and utilising quality tools as applicable;
* Maintain accurate recording and reporting systems on all engineering-related matters;
* Utilise current and new IT/processing systems effectively;
* Ensure high standards of safety and housekeeping are maintained, identifying and reporting any hazards or faults.
About You
The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of mechanical and electronic systems associated with high-volume manufacturing equipment, holding a Third Level Qualification or National Craft Certificate together with additional specialised training and experience. Relevant industrial experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment is crucial for this role, requiring analytical and experimental skills to maximise productivity and yields. Ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential, along with relevant PC skills.
Benefits
This role operates 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, with a 4-Cycle Shift Pattern (Days and Nights). The successful candidate must be willing to work 2 x 12-hour days, followed by 2 x 12-hour nights, followed by 4 days off.
