Accountant Opportunity in Co. Offaly
Our client, a respected accounting practice based near Tullamore in County Offaly, is seeking an experienced bookkeeper/accountant to join their team on a part-time basis (approximately 2-3 days per week).
The role will involve performing bank reconciliations, managing accounts payable/receivable, and making general ledger postings.
Key responsibilities also include preparing and submitting Value Added Tax (VAT) returns in compliance with Irish regulations, assisting with payroll processing, and ensuring accurate submission of Pay As You Earn (PAYE) returns.
Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing management accounts, financial statements, and year-end accounts for clients, as well as supporting the preparation of corporate and personal tax returns.
Required skills and qualifications:
Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles (minimum 23 years preferred)
Irish practice experience is essential
Proficiency in software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, Relate, Thesaurus Payroll, and Microsoft Excel
Strong understanding of Irish VAT, PAYE, and tax regulations
Excellent attention to detail, organisational, and time management skills
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present financial data
Effective communication skills for liaising with clients and stakeholders
A professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, ACA) or bookkeeping certification is highly desirable
