Pharmaceutical Business Development Specialist
We are seeking a seasoned Pharmaceutical Business Development Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for driving new customer growth and building relationships with global pharma and biotech customers.
About the Role:
* Sales & Revenue Generation:
o Develop a territory sales plan aligned with company targets
o Maintain a consistent pipeline of prospects through networking, referrals, and industry research
o Partner with product specialists for informative product demonstrations tailored to specific prospect needs
o Develop detailed responses to RFPs and RFIs highlighting business value and solution strengths
o Collaborate with product specialists to understand prospect requirements and design optimal solution architectures
* Solution Expertise:
o Maintain expertise in platform features, functionality, and technical architecture
o Possess or develop an understanding of scientific workflows within pharmaceutical and biotechnology manufacturing
o Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies
o Articulate the value proposition of our platform in the context of customer-specific challenges
* Content and Tool Development:
o Contribute to the development of technical sales collateral, including demo scripts and presentations
o Identify opportunities to create reusable solutions and best practices for common use cases
o Provide feedback to product and engineering teams based on customer interactions and market insights
* Customer Engagement and Relationship Building:
o Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within client organizations
o Serve as the primary point of contact for clients advocating for their needs and interests
o Develop account plans to identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional licenses and products
o Manage contract renewals and ensure clients continue to derive value from our offerings
Requirements:
* Strong network of executive leaders within CMC, research, and manufacturing organizations of top global pharma and biotech companies
* A minimum of 5 years relevant domain experience in pharmaceutical / biotech CMC, process development, and commercial manufacturing
* A minimum of 7 years management consulting experience within relevant domains
* Proven experience originating a large sales pipeline through lead generation and/or network-driven sales
* Experience leading successful RFI/RFP responses and coordinating cross-functionally to respond to inquiries
* Experience implementing CMC or CMC-adjacent technology solutions in the pharmaceutical industry
* Strong executive communication skills and presence
