Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Manager to lead and manage procurement activities across multiple projects. This is a senior, strategic role with responsibility for procurement planning, supply chain management, and cost control, particularly for materials and subcontract hire not supplied by subcontractors.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting project delivery teams and ensuring best value, quality, and programme certainty across all procurement packages.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project and company objectives
Manage the procurement of materials and plant/subcontract hire packages not included within subcontractor scopes
Lead supplier and vendor selection, negotiation, and contract award processes
Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and hire companies
Ensure procurement activities align with project programmes, budgets, and quality standards
Monitor market trends, pricing, and availability to mitigate supply chain risk
Work closely with commercial, design, and construction teams throughout the project lifecycle
Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and health & safety standards
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function
Candidate Requirements
Minimum 10 years’ experience in procurement with a main contractor
Strong background in the construction industry, ideally within design and build environments
Proven experience procuring materials and managing subcontract/plant hire
Excellent negotiation, commercial, and supplier management skills
Strong understanding of construction programmes, cost control, and supply chain risk
Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
