Responsibilities for the job of Head of Finance: Strategic Financial Leadership Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's goals.
Work closely with the CEO and executive team to provide financial insights and advice on business decisions.
Lead long-term financial planning and analysis to support business objectives.
Identify and mitigate financial risks and opportunities.
Financial Planning and Analysis Oversee the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
Analyse financial performance, trends, and variances to make actionable recommendations.
Present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to the executive team and board of directors.
Monitor key financial metrics and KPIs to ensure the company's financial health.
Financial Operations and Management Ensure accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
Supervise treasury functions to optimise cash flow, liquidity, and working capital.
Manage capital structure and relationships with banks, lenders, and other financial stakeholders.
Oversee tax planning, reporting, and compliance with relevant tax authorities.
Risk Management and Compliance Ensure compliance with financial regulations, industry standards, and internal policies.
Monitor internal control systems to safeguard the company's assets and ensure integrity in financial reporting.
Lead external audits and liaise with auditors to ensure smooth execution and resolution of audit findings.
Team Leadership Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, ensuring high performance and continuous improvement.
Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration within the finance department.
Set objectives, conduct performance reviews, and identify training needs to build a strong, cohesive finance team.
Stakeholder Engagement Act as the primary contact for external stakeholders including investors, auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.
Work with other department heads to ensure alignment of financial and operational strategies.
Communicate financial updates and strategy to the board of directors and investors.
Systems & IT Ensure efficient operation and integration of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems like SAP, Oracle, or Net Suite.
Lead or support the implementation, testing, and upgrading of financial software systems.
Drive digital transformation initiatives, including automation of manual finance tasks (e.g., invoicing, reconciliation).
Collaborate with IT and analytics teams to develop dashboards and analytics tools for real-time financial insights Liaise with IT to define system requirements, resolve issues, and ensure alignment between tech and finance.
Participate in the selection and evaluation of technology vendors for finance-related software and services.
Supply Chain Track and analyse costs across procurement, warehousing, logistics, and distribution.
Provide dashboards and performance reviews that link supply chain data with financial performance.
Ensure that supply chain and finance data are connected through ERP systems.
Evaluate financial stability of key suppliers and develop contingency plans.
Work closely with supply chain, procurement, and operations to guide financially sound decisions.
