We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our growing project delivery team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the engineering, coordination, and delivery of multidisciplinary MEICA projects within the water, wastewater, industrial, and pharmaceutical sectors.
This position requires strong technical expertise, leadership ability, and project coordination skills to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Lead and support engineering project delivery through effective coordination and liaison with key project stakeholders including clients, design teams, main contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Review and become fully familiar with project design specifications, IFC drawings, and overall project scope requirements.
Oversee the BIM coordination process to transform design information into installation and fabrication drawings while ensuring specification compliance and programme priorities are maintained.
Ensure engineering deliverables align with the overall project programme and do not negatively impact project schedules.
Manage technical submittals, approvals, and design coordination activities.
Ensure all mechanical installations are completed in accordance with project specifications, QA procedures, and agreed benchmarking standards.
Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to maintain adequate information flow and ensure works progress in line with programme requirements.
Attend and lead project coordination, progress, and client meetings where required.
Drive continuous improvement by promoting innovative engineering practices and efficient delivery processes.
Assist in the preparation and agreement of project completion criteria and close‑out documentation.
Prepare subcontractor and supplier tender packages in conjunction with the Project Quantity Surveyor.
Manage the work pack process from development through implementation and final handover.
Coordinate BIM priorities including isometric generation and release schedules.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineering staff where required.
Ensure full compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent third level qualification.
Minimum of 5+ years' experience working within multidisciplinary MEICA teams or with a recognised Mechanical/Electrical contractor in a similar environment.
Experience in the design, construction, and commissioning of water and wastewater treatment facilities is highly desirable.
Experience within industrial or pharmaceutical environments would be advantageous.
Strong practical experience managing and coordinating teams within a construction site environment.
Comprehensive understanding of relevant health and safety regulations and site compliance requirements.
Strong knowledge of piping and mechanical pipework systems.
Proficiency in Navisworks, BIM/CAD systems, and project planning software such as Primavera.
Excellent organisational, planning, and workload prioritisation skills.
Strong negotiation, leadership, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
Ability to motivate teams and effectively delegate and monitor activities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Ability to work well under pressure and consistently meet project deadlines.
Full Driving Licence.
