Job Description: Cloud & Virtualization EngineerOverviewThe Cloud & Virtualization Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, migration, and operational support of virtualized and cloud-based infrastructure platforms. This role supports hybrid environments spanning on‑prem virtualization technologies and public cloud platforms, ensuring stability, scalability, and alignment with business objectives. Participation in an on-call rotation is expected.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, deploy, and support virtualized infrastructure across multiple hypervisors and environments.Install, migrate, and support Windows Server operating systems across physical, virtual, and cloud platforms.Provide operational support for clustered and highly available infrastructure components.Administer and support virtualization management platforms and control planes (e.g., vCenter, cloud portals).Support and maintain virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solutions.Contribute to infrastructure design, architecture discussions, and technology roadmaps.Research, analyze, and implement solutions that align with business and scalability requirements.Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures.Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and deliver advanced break-fix support.Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, security, and application teams to deliver reliable services.Technologies & PlatformsHypervisors (VMware and non‑VMware platforms)Clusters and clustering technologiesvCenter and virtualization management toolsVMware Aria (formerly vRealize)VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure)Dell server and storage platformsAmazon Web Services (AWS)Operating Systems & ToolsWindows ServerSCCM, Group Policy (GPO)Infrastructure automation and scripting (PowerShell preferred)Qualifications5+ years of experience in cloud, virtualization, or infrastructure engineering roles.Strong hands-on experience with virtualized infrastructure and clustered environments.Experience supporting hybrid infrastructure spanning on‑prem and public cloud platforms.Working knowledge of VMware ecosystem tools as well as alternative virtualization or cloud-native platforms.Practical experience with VDI solutions and enterprise hardware (Dell preferred).Proficiency with automation and scripting, ideally using PowerShell.Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
