Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Kilkenny
Duration: Permanent
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm
Overview of the role
This role is an exciting opportunity for a qualified electrical engineer with Water/Waste Water experience to join a highly established Electrical Design Engineering Team.
The engineer will produce detailed electrical and instrumentation designs for Water & Wastewater Treatment Plants, manage and execute projects within time and budget constraints, and communicate with managers, engineers, suppliers and clients.
Duties
Experience liaising with Electrical Supply Board (ESB) Design and selection of instrumentation for Water and WasteWater processes.
Evaluate client specifications from industrial and municipal clients.
Prepare electrical technical designs & submissions.
Design electrical distribution and general services (lighting, fire and intruder alarms and containment systems).
Design and develop electrical panels including schematic review (MCC, LCP, MDB etc).
Develop automation hardware and system network architecture.
Prepare cable, IO & power schedules.
Evaluate and select sub-contractors and suppliers.
Prepare procurement specifications and quotation evaluations.
Liaise with design, contracts, control & automation departments.
Update single line diagrams, panel schematics and wiring diagrams.
Prepare Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) documentation and attend FAT.
Prepare control philosophies.
Work to Irish Standards, European Norms, Water Industry Standards (WIMES) & IEC standards.
Occasional site visits to support design activities.
Skills
Level 7 or higher in Electrical Engineering.
Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment industry preferable.
Highly organised and efficient.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Requirements for Employment
